Sen. John Thune’s speech in Senate Trump impeachment trial (Feb 4, 2020)

<a href=“https://youtu.be/7TbAllVZ8zk\“>youtube https://youtu.be/7TbAllVZ8zk The trial proceedings Feb 3 and Feb 4 floor time was reserved for senators who wanted to deliver speeches on the Senate floor about the impeachment process and how they plan to vote.

Senate Majority Whip John Thune said that he’ll be voting to acquit Trump. He said the evidence presented by the House “doesn’t raise to the high bar that the Founders set.”

Senators, Thune said, can “debate the President’s judgment” with his Ukraine dealings and even find his “actions inappropriate” but not vote to remove him from office. He echoed McConnell’s call to let the voters in the 2020 election decide if Trump should remain in office. <a href=“https://facebook.com/HygoNewsUSA/videos/606359266825618/\“>For many comments, check out here
