Trump revealed why he decided to give dozens of countries worldwide a major break on his tariffs. During a White House event where Trump was honoring auto racing champions, a reporter asked the question everyone wanted to know: what caused the president to pivot and give so many nations a tariff break? “I’m thinking about why you decided to put a 90-day pause (on tariffs),” the reporter inquired.

“Well, I thought people were jumping a little bit out of line; they were getting yippy,” Trump explained. “A little bit afraid, unlike these champions.” “We have a big job to do. No other president would have done what I did,” Trump added. “What was happening to us on trade…not only China but others also…Somebody had to do it (impose tariffs) because it (the status quo) was not acceptable.”

REPORTER: Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, they’ve been talking about tariffs for decades… do you see this double standard?
